Kesha has released her first single since her legal battle with music producer Dr Luke.
Her contract with Kemosabe/RCA expired in March and, most recently, Dr Luke dropped a defamation lawsuit filed against Kesha's mother. 'Praying' marks Kesha's first single in four years and was written with regular Macklemore collaborator Ryan Lewis.
The powerful track is the first to be taken from her new album Rainbow, which is due out on August 11.
She opened up about the launch of the single in a blog post on Lenny.
"I have channeled my feelings of severe hopelessness and depression, I've overcome obstacles, and I have found strength in myself even when it felt out of reach," she wrote.
"The song is about coming to feel empathy for someone else even if they hurt you or scare you. It's a song about learning to be proud of the person you are even during low moments when you feel alone. It's also about hoping everyone, even someone who hurt you, can heal."

Kesha added that she knew she was never "abandoned" by her fans or her family, but she felt at times like she had nothing.
"In the past couple of years, I have grown into a strong, independent woman. I have realised through this long journey of ups and downs that if I'm lucky enough to have a voice that people listen to, then I should use it for good and for truth," she wrote.
Rainbow is out on August 11.
