Beast and Mystique's romance was meant to be explored more fully in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
A love scene between Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult's character has found its way onto the 'Rogue Cut' of the movie, after being axed from the original edit due to pacing and continuity issues.

The scene did not make the final cut as producers felt it would be strange for the pair's romance to be featured alongside the darker elements of the story.
Speaking to MTV about their romance, Hoult said: "There were another couple of scenes which got cut, because they didn't work technically in terms of the geography of how the movie played out in the end.
"Why [Mystique and Beast] would be here - when the world is about to end - and then we've nipped home quickly to have a good night's sleep. Everyone was like, 'Well, we can't really do that'. So there were a couple of extra scenes which got cut, unfortunately."

But fans of Beast and Mystique need not fear as Hoult believes their relationship will be focused on more in X-Men: Apocalypse next year.
"I think they'll try and figure out a way to develop it more in the next one," he said.
X-Men director Bryan Singer has promised that the 'Rogue Cut' offers fans a "different experience" to the film they saw in cinemas last year, with 17 minutes of unseen footage featuring a subplot involving Anna Paquin's character Rogue.
