The Life of Chuck, the new drama starring Tom Hiddleston and Chiwetel Ejiofor, has released its first teaser trailer.
The film, based on Stephen King’s 2020 novella, tells the “life-affirming” and “genre-bending” story of Charles ‘Chuck’ Krantz, who is played by Hiddleston, Jacob Tremblay, Benjamin Pajak and Cody Flanagan.
After Chuck, described as an “ordinary man”, tragically dies from a brain tumour at the age of 39, his story is told in reverse via three distinct chapters, tracing his journey from death all the way back to his childhood.

Ahead of its theatrical release later this year, Neon and StudioCanal have released the first teaser for the film, showing Chuck across the years before he says: “The universe is large, and it contains multitudes, but it also contains me.”
Written and directed by famed horror director Mike Flanagan, the stacked cast for The Life of Chuck also includes Annalise Basso, Karen Gillan, Matthew Lillard, Mark Hamill, Kate Siegel and Nick Offerman.

“Amidst the chaos, there is a slew of billboards touting a man named Charles 'Chuck' Krantz, and congratulating him for being a guiding presence for 39 years,” reads the synopsis. “Nobody in town knows who the hell he is, or whether he might have some answers as their world crumbles all around them.”

Whilst The Life of Chuck isn’t set to hit the big screen until June 6, the film garnered positive reviews upon its world premiere at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) back in September, garnering an approval rating of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes from 40 reviews.
Mashable declared that the “glorious” film deserved to be viewed on a “big screen” within a “community”, whilst Movie Madness Podcast described it as a “life-affirming journey” that ranks as “one of the best adaptations” of King’s work.
The Life of Chuck is in US cinemas on June 6; there is no UK release date.
