Beauty and the Beast may be one of the highest-grossing films of all time, but one deleted scene shows things could have gone down the toilet. Literally.
Speaking to EW, the movie's director Bill Condon revealed a scene where Monsier Toilette – played by Extras and Logan star Stephen Merchant – terrorises Gaston's aide Le Fou (Josh Gad) during the fight scene between the villagers and the house.
While what exactly unfolds between the pair remains a mystery, one thing is clear: Le Fou will never quite be the same after the experience.
Watch the terrifying toilet clip below and lament what may have been, before it all got flushed you-know-where:
"[The deleted scenes] actually contain some of my favourite moments, but whether it was a question of running times or tonal shifts, they didn't ultimately fit into the film," explained Condon.

It meant that Merchant's role was cut from the film, and we're pretty peeved about it. He would have fit right in with the movie's other British household items, including Sir Ian McKellen's Cogsworth, Ewan McGregor's Lumiere and Emma Thompson's Mrs Potts.
And it's not the only scene deleted from the final cut of Beauty and the Beast.
British actress Harriet Jones was also clipped from the film, after a scene featuring the Beast's mother confused audiences during test screenings. Watch the moment in question below:
