Disney asked you to be their guest and see Beauty and the Beast's live action remake and it seems you all pretty much agreed, as Emma Watson and Dan Stevens' romantic sing-a-long has now entered the top ten highest grossing movies of all time at the international box office.

The movie got off to a strong start by raking in nearly $175 million domestically and doubling that internationally, pulling in a whopping $350 million in just its first weekend.

Beauty and the Beast quickly became the biggest film of 2017, and also the biggest musical in UK box office history. Pretty impressive, eh? Imagine all the magical talking candlesticks you could buy with that wonga, eh?

Box Office Mojo reports that the film has now pocketed a global tally of $1.2218 billion, more than enough to pass the Disney/Marvel Studios blockbuster Iron Man 3 to make it the 10th highest grossing film of all tie.

The next highest grossing film on the list is Disney's own Frozen which has earned $1.2765 billion in ticket sales.These are the current top ten highest grossing movies of all time globally as it stands:

1. Avatar – $2.788 billion

2. Titanic – $2.1868 billion

3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens – $2.0682 billion

4. Jurassic World – $1.6717 billion

5. Marvel's The Avengers – $1.518.8 billion

6. Furious 7 – $1.516 billion

7. Avengers: Age of Ultron – $1.4054 billion

8. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 – $1.3415 billion

9. Frozen – $1.2765 billion

10. Beauty and the Beast (2017) – $1,221.8 billion

The movie also released plenty of critical praise and, in what was described as a "watershed" moment, featured Disney's first confirmed live-action gay character – although this did result in the film being given an adult rating in Russia and being banned from cinemas in other locations.

And Beauty and the Beast also featured the first ever interracial kiss in a live-action Disney movie.

Laurence is also a Brits voting academy member.

Laurence has been lucky enough to interview numerous celebrities, actors, and musicians throughout his career.
