We always knew Beauty and the Beast was going to deliver – especially after all the impressive reviews – so it's no surprise that the new live-action take on the 1991 Disney favourite waltzed straight to the top of the worldwide box office and has already made $350 million globally in its opening weekend.
Anyway, if you've finally seen the film (it's incredible, isn't it?), got all the merch (who wouldn't need a Lumière light-up handbag?) and watched all the cast interviews you could find, then you're probably already thinking about the possibility of a sequel – but sadly, it doesn't look likely.

Speaking to Deadline, president of production at Disney Sean Bailey said that the company is open to exploring "possible spinoff and prequel scenarios" but is wary about doing a sequel due to the negative reception Alice Through the Looking Glass received.
Beauty and the Beast has already managed to take a record from Hugh Jackman's Logan, which gained the biggest opening of the year so far with $85.3 million in its debut week earlier this month.
The film is currently sitting in seventh place as the biggest opening of all time at the US box office, as well as becoming the biggest opening for a PG-rated movie EVER.
Bill Condon's reimagining of Beauty and the Beast is out now. Watch the trailer below:
