Kinky novelist E.L. James, took to Facebook on Saturday and it has sent Fifty Shades fans into a frenzy.
To celebrate Anastasia Steele's 27th birthday – the female protagonist of the trilogy – the author gifted us all with an excerpt from her upcoming book.
In a Facebook post the author wrote: "Good morning, all I know you're anxiously awaiting the trailer, and that's happening... soon. In the meantime, in honour of Ana's birthday, there's this."
Apart from a few swear words, the excerpt is certainly more tame than the sado-masochist tale is known for but no doubt there will be much juicier scenes to follow.
The original three novels — Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed — were all told from Anastasia's point of view, but in 2015, James released a fourth book, Grey, that detailed the events of the first book from Christian Grey's perspective.
It looks like the newly announced book will do the same, by retelling the events of the second book in the words of the BDSM businessman.

Filming of the third movie, Fifty Shades Freed, has already been completed but unfortunately, even if the books continue, fans may have to say goodbye to Jamie Dornan.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "We have done two movies back to back now, and I'm actually finished with it. I've done Fifty Shades forever."
And for those wanting to watch the big screen adaptation of Fifty Shades Darker, you will have to wait until next year.
