Alicia Vikander will be kicking some serious ass when Tomb Raider arrives in 2018.
The big-screen reboot of the video game franchise has been slotted by Warner Bros for a March 16, 2018 release date.
Tomb Raider's addition to the March 2018 lineup displaces another Warner Bros project - one of the unnamed DC Extended Universe movies.
Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander will play a young Lara Croft on her first globe-spanning mission in the new Tomb Raider, from The Wave director Roar Uthaug.
Vikander inherits the Lara Croft mantle from Angelina Jolie, who played the heroine in a 2001 blockbuster and 2003 sequel The Cradle of Life.
Swedish actress Vikander is fresh off critically-lauded performances in sci-fi thriller Ex Machina and the Lili Elbe biopic The Danish Girl.
