Ever since it was confirmed that Gillian Anderson was going to star in a movie with Hannah Einbinder, she's been having fun on social media with a playful 'feud' with Einbinder's Hacks co-star Jean Smart.
"Couldn't let Jean Smart have all the fun," Anderson wrote when the casting was announced, but the best was saved for the Cannes premiere of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. Anderson shared a short clip of a slow dance with Einbinder, which saw her joking: "Jean Smart, eat your heart out."
We've been waiting to see whether Smart would respond to the light-hearted banter, but when asked by Digital Spy at the UK premiere of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma at SXSW London, Anderson confirmed that Smart hadn't responded, at least "not directly".
Before she could expand, Einbinder explained the likely reason behind the lack of response: "She's not really locked in on posting. She can send me stuff, but she doesn't know how to open her DMs. Our DMs are just her because I know if I answer, I'll text her my response. So she's just not very online."

With a couple of months to go until the movie is released in cinemas, let's hope we'll eventually get a response from Smart.

We're also waiting to see what she'll think of Einbinder's new movie as she hasn't seen it yet.
"We haven't had any LA screenings but I'm hoping that she'll come to the screenings that we have in LA," Einbinder told Digital Spy. "I think she will be laughing out loud. I think she will be having fun. I think she'll love it."

If she does love it, Smart will join everybody else in praising Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, which currently holds a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes following its festival screenings.
The new movie from Jane Schoenbrun follows a filmmaker (Einbinder) who is hired to revive a slasher franchise. She hopes to be able to persuade the original star (Anderson) to return, but when they meet, the two fall into a world of desire, fear and delirium.
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is released in UK & Ireland cinemas on 21 August.
