Michelle Dockery has confirmed she is expecting her first baby with husband Jasper Waller-Bridge.

The star, who plays Lady Mary Crawley in the Downton Abbey franchise, unveiled her growing baby bump at the premiere of the new movie alongside her husband.

This will be the first child for the couple, who tied the knot back in 2023 after getting engaged the year before.

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, as the title suggests, is the final entry in the movie series, which is itself based on the ITV TV show.

In Digital Spy's three-star review of the new film, we said: "There is a sense throughout that everyone's story will be tied up in a neat little bow before a final scene that succeeds in being both a sad and sweet farewell.

"It may have taken two forgettable hours to get there, but if this really is a final goodbye to Downton Abbey, at least it is a warm one."

Earlier this year, Dockery teased The Grand Finale as a "beautiful film", adding to Collider: "For us, it was such a treat to be able to come back together again."

She said it was a "real tribute" to the late Maggie Smith, who famously played Dowager Countess Violet Crawley.

Dockery also spoke of doing the trilogy of movies, adding: "I think there was always an intention to do three films.

"But no, I'm not entirely sure. I guess that was what was thought of initially. But it's amazing that we got to do that many films. I mean, we would have been very happy to do one, but the demand was to do more, and it's been an incredible experience."

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is released in cinemas on 12 September.
