Timothée Chalamet has debuted a new haircut, chopping off his signature locks.

The Dune actor showed off his new look at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival this week, where he was honoured with the Arlington Artist of the Year Award for his roles in Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown and Dune: Part Two.

Photos from the event reveal that Chalamet has trimmed his hair into more of a pixie cut, opting for a short back and sides with a tuft of bangs at the front.

The actor recently received an Oscar nod for his performance in A Complete Unknown, which released in the UK last month following its Christmas Day release in the US.

The film covers the earliest years of Bob Dylan's career as a struggling songwriter in New York City and his transformation into a pioneer of the folk-rock movement following a performance at the Newport Folk Festival.

In other news, it was recently confirmed that Chalamet's ping-pong movie Marty Supreme is set to release in the US this December.

While the film began as a biopic about eccentric table tennis player Marty Reisman, it has been reported that it has now turned into something more akin to Catch Me If You Can and The Wolf of Wall Street, and only loosely based on Reisman's life.

Tyler, the Creator, Gwyneth Paltrow, Fran Drescher and comedian Sandra Bernhard will also star.

Chalamet is also set to reprise his role as Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve's upcoming third Dune movie, Dune Messiah, which is scheduled to arrive in cinemas next year.
