Aaron Taylor-Johnson has addressed a question regarding his rumoured casting as James Bond.

The actor has been at the centre of speculation that he could succeed Daniel Craig as 007 following a report in March suggesting he had been offered the role.

A production insider later denied the claims, telling BBC News that there was "no truth in the rumours".

While speaking to ComicBook in a new interview, Taylor-Johnson was asked about the role of Bond and instead compared it to his new movie Kraven the Hunter.

"I think, you know, if that’s the thing you’re really into [Bond] and that’s the kind of movie you love, then you should come see this movie because the action in this is insane and super-exciting," he replied.

"So, yeah, honestly, I don’t think it would disappoint, brother," Taylor-Johnson added.

Amid the speculation earlier in 2024, the actor awkwardly dodged a red carpet question about the rumours and whether he was "sick of being asked about Bond".

"You sick of asking the question?" he then replied to the Associated Press.

Whether or not Taylor-Johnson is the new 007, it appears it will be a while before we get confirmation of who the next actor will be.

However, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson recently dropped some more concrete information on the criteria, confirming it will be a man likely in their 30s and whiteness is not given.

The actor is also expected to devote at least a decade to the franchise.
