Anne Hathaway is set to star in an all-new Colleen Hoover movie adaptation.
According to Deadline, the Oscar-winning actress has landed the lead role in the upcoming thriller Verity, which is based on the novel of the same name by the It Ends With Us author.
The new project will reunite Hathaway with director Michael Showalter, who worked with her on the recent Amazon MGM film The Idea of You.

Verity follows the story of Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer facing financial ruin who accepts the job offer of a lifetime.
Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling crime writer Verity Crawford (Hathaway), hires Lowen to finish the remaining books in his wife's successful franchise series, with Verity unable to complete the novels herself following a mysterious accident.
What to Read Next
As Lowen gets better acquainted with the residents and goings-on at the lavish Crawford estate, she starts to question what she's been told. After discovering an unfinished manuscript revealing chilling details of the family's past, Lowen considers if there is more to Verity than they'd have her believe.

Hathaway is the only star currently attached to the project, with further casting details expected in due course.
Verity is one of two new Colleen Hoover movie adaptations in the works, with her 2019 novel Regretting You also getting the big-screen treatment. The movie is set to star Ghostbusters and The Handmaid's Tale's Mckenna Grace and Girls actor Allison Williams.
The two will explore a strained mother-daughter relationship, with Williams playing Grace's mum.
Both projects have been green-lit following the success of this year's It Ends With Us movie starring Gossip Girl's Blake Lively.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film, based on Hoover's 2016 novel, drew in $309 million in global ticket sales.
There is currently no release date for Verity.
