A new 5 twisty drama featuring Poldark and The Forsytes star Eleanor Tomlinson as a woman whose life changes dramatically after a mysterious inheritance has confirmed a release date. Centred on Tomlinson's Amanda Blakefield, The Fortune, also starring Midsomer Murders' Denis Lawson, is coming to our screens soon with a stacked cast and an intriguing premise.
Branded a "gripping" thriller by the broadcaster, the series is set to premiere on 5 on Tuesday 2 June at 9pm, with the second episode airing the next day at the same time. The final two episodes will air the following week on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 June.
Amanda's life with husband Jimmy (Matthew Lewis) and son Luke (James Younger) is thrown into chaos when she receives an "enormous inheritance by a man she has neither met nor heard of before," the synopsis teases.

"Her life starts to disintegrate as she becomes embroiled in the world of The Worrall Family," it continues, with the patriarch of the powerful clan Martin Worrall played by Lawson.
"As Amanda is drawn further and further into past events and relationships, all of their lives are turned upside down," the description concludes.

The cast of The Fortune is rounded out by Rebecca Front (The Thick of It), Callum Woodhouse (All Creatures Great and Small), Paula Wilcox (Trying), Stephen Tompkinson (DCI Banks), Danielle Walters (Chewing Gum), and Nina Wadia (EastEnders).
Tomlinson, also seen in Netflix's One Day and Channel 4's The Couple Next Door, will be back on 5 for a new season of period drama The Forsytes, in which she reprises the role of dressmaker Louisa Byrne.
An adaptation of the novels by John Galsworthy about the titular stockbroker family in late-Victorian London, The Forsytes has confirmed it'll return with a time jump for season 2.
Set several months after the dramatic events of season 1, which saw Jolyon Jr (Danny Griffin) walk out on his family to reunite with his first love Louisa, the new instalment is also expected to dig deeper into the relationship between controlling Soames (Joshua Orpin) and his wife Irene (Milly Gibson).
The Fortune starts airing on 5 on 2 June at 9pm.
