Inside Out 2 has officially become Pixar's highest-grossing movie of all time.
The animated sequel, which was released on June 14, has now grossed $1.251 billion in global ticket sales, breaking a record previously held by Incredibles 2 – which reached a total of $1.242 billion (via The Hollywood Reporter).
It's staggering sales total puts the film in fourth place on the overall list of top-grossing animated films, behind Frozen, The Super Mario Bros Movie and Frozen II. And its position is likely to climb even higher.

Inside Out 2 has dominated the box office since its hugely successful debut, grossing $140 million internationally during its opening weekend. That meant it surpassed Frozen 2's $135 million as the biggest animated opening internationally.
The film went on to hit $1 billion at the global box office, making it the first movie to achieve the milestone since Barbie last year. It's also the fastest animated movie to hit the threshold.

Inside Out 2 sees the return of Joy (Amy Poehler) and her fellow emotions, who are learning to adjust to protagonist Riley entering adolescence.
The sequel also introduces a new batch of emotions, including Anxiety (Stranger Things' Maya Hawke), Envy (The Bear's Ayo Edebiri), Ennui (Wingwomen's Adèle Exarchopoulos) and Embarrassment (Black Bird's Paul Walter Hauser).
Inside Out 2 currently sits on an impressive 94% score on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes after 285 reviews, nearly a month after its release.
In our four-star review of the film, Digital Spy praised the sequel as "a worthy follow-up that expands the world with brilliant tweaks to the concept, as well as delivering witty gags that simplify big ideas".
