The Bear's Ayo Edebiri is set to star opposite Billions actor John Malkovich in a new horror movie.

As reported by Deadline, the actress will join the star-studded cast of Opus, which includes The White Lotus star Murray Bartlett, Prey's Amber Midthunder, Power Book II: Ghost star Stephanie Suganami, Beef's Young Mazino and Tatanka Means from Killers of the Flower Moon. Yellowjackets leading lady Juliette Lewis is also in talks for a role.

The film is set to be released by A24 and follows an iconic pop star's return to the spotlight after a decades-long absence — though much of the plot specifics are currently under wraps.

Ahead of the potential end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, announced earlier today (November 9), production for Opus was already set to continue after A24 received an interim agreement.

The horror will mark the first feature project for writer-director Mark Anthony Green. Producers include Collin Creighton and Brad Weston for Makeready, Poppy Hanks and Jelani Johnson for Macro Film Studios, and Josh Bachove.

Edebiri will also return as no-nonsense chef Sydney Adamu in the hit FX series, after it was recently announced that The Bear has officially been renewed for a third season. Following on from the success of the first two seasons — and season two's cliffhanger — Nick Grad, president of FX Entertainment, released a statement confirming the news fans had been waiting for.

"The Bear, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in season two, has become a cultural phenomenon," he said.

"What [the cast] and the crew have done is truly remarkable and we and our partners at Hulu and Disney+ join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story."

Opus doesn't have a release date yet. The Bear season one and two are currently available to stream on Disney+.
