Succession star Sarah Snook's new movie, Run Rabbit Run, is coming to Netflix.

The horror film started production early in 2022, and is due to be released at some point this year, Deadline reports.

Netflix has a knack for sniffing out hits, so the fact that the streamer has snapped up Run Rabbit Run likely means it's a film worth looking forward to.

Plus, the fact that the movie's going to Netflix means you can watch it while hiding behind your popcorn from the safety of your own home.

According to Deadline, co-funders XYZ Films brokered the deal with Netflix before Run Rabbit Run's Sundance screening.

Sundance has shared a synopsis for Run Rabbit Run, and it sounds pretty harrowing: "Fertility doctor Sarah [played by Snook] begins her beloved daughter Mia's seventh birthday expecting nothing amiss. But as an ominous wind swirls in, Sarah's carefully controlled world begins to alter.

What to Read Next

"Mia begins behaving oddly and a rabbit appears outside their front door — a mysterious birthday gift that delights Mia but seems to deeply disconcert Sarah."

Mia's behaviour grows increasingly strange over the following days, and her "bizarre tantrums begin to point her toward Sarah's own dark history".

The synopsis concludes: "As a ghost from her past re-enters Sarah's life, she struggles to cling to her distant young daughter."

Creepy kid, buried secrets coming to the fore, psychological trauma — sounds like this horror has it all.

If that weren't enough, the film is directed by Daina Reid, who's responsible for the nightmares caused by The Handmaid's Tale, and also stars Mindhunter's Damon Herriman and The Terror and The Falling star Greta Scacchi.

In short, everyone involved in Run Rabbit Run knows how to keep an audience on the edge of their seats.

Succession airs on HBO in the US, and Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK.
