The Umbrella Academy star Marin Ireland has landed her next role, with the actress set to star in horror film Birth/Rebirth.
As reported by Deadline, the actress has joined the principal cast of the film, which is being produced by streaming service Shudder.
Birth/Rebirth, the debut feature from writer-director Laura Moss, is inspired by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, with the story reportedly incorporating many of the novel's themes.
Ireland will play a morgue technician who forms a relationship with a mother (Judy Reyes) and child (AJ Lister). Starring alongside Ireland and Reyes will be Breeda Wool and Monique Gabriela Curnen.

Moss, who is co-writing the script with Brendan J O'Brien, said of the project: "I am over the moon to be working with Shudder to finally bring this project to life. It's been gestating for a long time and I'm so proud of the cast and crew we have assembled to make it happen."

Ireland, who has also starred in The Miseducation of Cameron Post and Amazon's Sneaky Pete, plays Sissy Cooper on The Umbrella Academy, which depicts the exploits of adopted sibling superheroes.

The show, which stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper and Justin H Min, was recently renewed for a fourth and final season. The third season saw the family navigate an alternate timeline, with the 10 episodes airing in June.
A post-credits scene, which aired after the season finale, hinted at what the family will get up to in their final adventure.
Birth/Rebirth will be released on Shudder in 2023. The Umbrella Academy seasons 1-3 are now streaming on Netflix.
