Elvis breakout star Olivia DeJonge has lined up her next film project, joining the cast of The Trashers.

According to Deadline, DeJonge will be playing the female lead opposite Licorice Pizza's Cooper Hoffman and Stranger Things star David Harbour.

While the details of her role are yet to be revealed, the film is based on the rise and fall of Jimmy Galante, trash magnate and part of the Genovese crime family. Harbour will be playing Jimmy Galante and Hoffman will be playing AJ, Galante's teenage son and whose perspective the film is from.

Galante made his money running a waste disposal business in Danbury, Connecticut before using it to purchase minor-league hockey team the Danbury Trashers and placing his son AJ in charge of it.

The Danbury Trashers would gain a cult following thanks to their aggressive style of play on field but the success would all come crashing down after Galante was imprisoned on 72 criminal charges.

DeJonge was also part of the Netflix show The Society as Elle Tomkins. The series had initially been renewed for a second season but was later cancelled due to complications arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.
