Disney has continued to build a compelling case for subscribing to its upcoming streaming service, as the House of Mouse has confirmed it will unlock the fabled Disney vault.

Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the news, promising fans of all those animated classics that "at some point fairly soon after launch", Disney+ will feature the studio's extensive, and impressive, back catalogue.

The service is set to feature films that "traditionally have been kept in a vault and brought out basically every few years," Iger confirmed (via The Verge).

For those who don't know the pain of not having your favourite Disney classic available to buy as standard, Disney's so-called 'vault' consists of 34 titles that go on and off the market.

The vault includes the likes of Disney's most popular films, such as The Lion King and Cinderella, as well as some questionable straight-to-video sequels, like The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea and the underappreciated 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure (!).

In news that will make you want to throw your money at Disney+, it was recently revealed that the streaming service has commissioned an original series based on its iconic villains.

Steve Pearlman and Michael Seitzman will have the honour of developing the creatively-titled Disney Villains for the platform, a series expected to begin production in 2020.

Poor unfortunate souls? We think not.
