Xbox One users who leaked the rumored Gears of War remake have been banned from Xbox Live.
Although they can still use their consoles offline, those who leaked the unconfirmed reboot can no longer access their accounts on Microsoft's online service.
"To be clear, if a console is suspended from Xbox Live for a violation of the Terms of Use, it can still be used offline," a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement to Kotaku.
"Microsoft enforcement action does not result in a console becoming unusable. Suspensions for both consoles and accounts are determined by looking at a number of factors.
"To avoid enforcement action including suspension from the service, users should follow the Xbox Live Terms of Use and Code of Conduct."
Gears of War for Xbox One was first leaked last month, and gameplay footage from the title surfaced earlier this week.

It is important to note, however, that Microsoft has yet to officially confirm the remake's existence.
The firm might be waiting for next month's E3 expo to make a formal announcement.
