The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Developed by previous Spider-Man game studio Beenox, the superhero action title will retain the open-world gameplay that was used by the previous entries.
The game follows an alternative storyline alongside the events of the newly released movie. New foes and old friends will be faced as Peter Parker searches for his uncle's killer.

Similar to past instalments of the Mario Golf series, developer Camelot has created a golf game in which not only wind, speed, power and club choice come into play, but also attributes of the character you have chosen to play as.
As well as two main modes of play, it also features a multiplayer suite akin to Mario Kart for online competition.

Sportfriends
Release date: May 6 (North America), May 7 (Europe)
Platforms: PS3, PS4
Sportsfriends bundles together four local multiplayer games - BaraBariBall, Super Pole Riders, Hokra and the physical, tag-like game Johann Sebastian Joust.
Note that up to seven people can play Johann Sebastian Joust on PS3, while the PS4 version supports a maximum of four players, both systems supporting optional PlayStation Move support.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe
Release date: May 16 (Europe), May 2 (North America)
Platforms: 3DS
Players are required to hunt down Sun Stones to enable themselves to progress through the new Nintendo 3DS title.
Featuring over 20 types of coping abilities, Kirby will be able to use a range of moves to advance through the game, while its StreetPass functionality will enable players to collect items through a method other than discovering them for themselves.

Wolfenstein: The New Order
Release date: May 20 (worldwide)

The New Order is the ninth instalment in the Wolfenstein series, following BJ Blazkowicz as he awakens from a coma in to a world in which the Third Riech won World War II.
Pre-orders of the game will come with early beta access for the next Doom game.

Transistor

From the creators of Bastion, this is a science fiction role-playing game which sees a young woman gain control of a powerful weapon of unknown origin.
Players will discover the mysteries of the weapon and its former owners by fighting hordes of enemies across the streets of a futuristic city.
Bounden
Release date: May 21 (worldwide)
Platforms: iOS, Android
A performance game using a smartphone, two players hold either end of a device and follow the on-screen commands, moving their arms and bodies in sync to create a live performance.
Whether it'll end up being a choreographed dance or a tangle of limbs depends on how well the players work together, but it has the potential to create something beautiful thanks to a collaboration with the Dutch National Ballet.
Borderlands 2

Previously launched back in 2012 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, the shooter, role-playing hybrid comes to Sony's handheld.
Borderlands 2 is a direct sequel to the first game of the series, emanating similar mechanics and structure with an emphasis on looting and co-op play, as you and your team attempt to navigate the world of Pandora.

Watch Dogs

Following a six-month delay and thousands of tweaks to changes that were already in place, Ubisoft is finally set to release their open-world creation.
Set in a fictitious, technology-driven version of Chicago, the single-player story follows Aiden Pearce, an immensely skilled hacker who can hack into the city's centralised system.
Having received more than 170 pre-release awards and nominations, big things are expected from Ubisoft's new release.

Mario Kart 8
Release date: May 30
Platforms: Wii U
The Wii U debut gives the fan-favourite racer a high-definition makeover and the addition of anti-gravity courses, where karts can race upside or up vertical services for innovative new track ideas.
As with previous Mario Kart games, there is a mix of 32 new and classic tracks, as well as a host of local and online multiplayer options.
