Lindsey Gort has been tapped to play the young Samantha Jones in the next season of The Carrie Diaries.
The CW series stars AnnaSophia Robb as the Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw, during her high school days in the '80s.
It was announced earlier this year that the show was looking for an actress to play an earlier incarnation of Samantha, the role made famous by Kim Cattrall.
Gort, a newcomer to Hollywood, will soon be seen with Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg in the action drama 2 Guns.
According to TVLine, producers say that the young Samantha Jones will be a "ballsy, beautiful and sexy young woman from the panhandle of Florida who has made her way - and already a name for herself - in the rock 'n' roll scene of 1980s NYC."
While Cattrall has yet to comment on The Carrie Diaries, Sarah Jessica was quoted earlier this year describing the show as "odd".
Season two of The Carrie Diaries will premiere October 25, 2013 on the CW.
