Germany head into the tournament with one of the strongest qualifying records, with a team ravaged by injuries. Portugal squeezed into the World Cup thanks to some magic from Cristiano Ronaldo, but the 'world's best player' might be carrying a niggling injury himself. If this match wasn't already the most tantalising in Group G, it now seems to carry even more weight to it.

There are plenty of big questions to be answered in the early kick-off of the day. How can Portugal fare with an under-par Ronaldo? Can this German team finally live up to their promise? And exactly how old is Miroslav Klose? He feels like he's been at every World Cup and European Championship since the beginning of time.

Speaking of Klose, if he bags one tonight he'll equal Ronaldo's (not him, the other one's) record of most World Cup goals. Hopefully he can bang one in, because he's always felt like one of the good guys.

Punditry Bingo Watch: "The Germans are always there or thereabouts." "Never underestimate the Germans." "German efficiency."
One to Watch: Ronaldo. Obviously.
Sound like you know what you're talking about down the pub: The Germans haven't actually won a World Cup since 1990. So in many ways, they're the real underachievers, not England.
Digital Spy prediction: Germany 2 - 1 Portugal
