Given the success of Neflix and Amazon in TV production, it was only a matter of time before tech giant Apple got into the mix.

And it seems the time has come, with Apple apparently working with Dr Dre on its first-ever scripted drama.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vital Signs is a gritty six-episode drama in which  Dr Dre will play the lead as well as executive produce.

Each episode will focus on a different emotion experienced by Dr Dre's character, although further details are being kept secret.

Expected to star opposite Dre are Iron Man 2's Sam Rockwell and Mo McRae (Sons of Anarchy) for a series likely to be distributed through Apple Music.

Digital Spy has reached out to Dr Dre's spokesperson for comment on Vital Signs.
