120th. Rick Grimes
The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman might have insisted that Rick will die eventually, but he's still alive as of issue 172 of the comic. If Andrew Lincoln exits the show this season, we'll eat our sheriff's hat.
219th. Daryl Dixon
Gene Page / AMCThe fan favourite. The golden boy. The untouchable. No clues from the comic here, because Daryl's a TV original, but the odds of our boy biting the bullet this year are slim to none.

318th. Negan
Gene Page / AMCHot-diggity-dog! Is the only way to stop Negan to kill him? Perhaps not – Jeffrey Dean Morgan's brutal bat-swinger survives 'All Out War' in the comic, so to execute him now would be a MAJOR diversion.
417th. Carol Peletier
Gene Page / AMCShe perished long ago in the source material, so is Carol living on borrowed time? We doubt it. Melissa McBride's a fan favourite and the character's evolved way beyond her comicbook counterpart.

516th. Carl Grimes
Gene Page/AMCHe's survived more than one near-death experience... is Carl's luck going to run out? Again, it's unlikely– he's still alive in the comic (and there's even speculation that Carl will one day inherit his father's mantle as series lead).
615th. Jesus
AMCJesus lives! Tom Payne's survivor is still around to this day in the comic, so likely won't be required to call on any powers of resurrection this season.

714th. Maggie Rhee
AMCMaggie has a whole lot more to do if The Walking Dead sticks with Kirkman's comic –and, with the character having just assumed de facto leadership of Hilltop, it would seem like the TV series is driving in a similar direction.
813th. Michonne
Gene Page//AMCShe took a helluva thrashing in season 7's finale, but Michonne is back fighting fit for season 8 and survives 'All Out War' in the comic. Danai Gurira's role in Avengers: Infinity War might mean she misses a couple of episodes, though.

912th. Tara Chambler
AMCThere's no direct equivalent for Alanna Masterson's character in the comic. A character named 'Tara' exists, but she's a different person entirely – one of Negan's Saviours. But our gut tells us she'll survive this season, with more of her dynamic with the women of Oceanside yet to be explored.
1011th. Enid
AMCNot directly featured in the comic, TV's Enid is more or less an analogue of Sophia, killed off long ago on the show, but still alive in the source material. We think Katelyn Nacon's role on the show is secure.

1110th. Ezekiel
AMCCould the King's reign come to an end this year? We're going to bet against it. Ezekiel does eventually meet a grisly end... but not in 'All Out War', so he's probably safe till season 9 at least.
129th. Morgan Jones
Gene Page/AMCThe comic had Morgan perish during the 'No Way Out' arc, which the TV show adapted in season six. So the Lennie James version has survived longer than he should have... it's more than possible this tortured soul will be put down in season 8.

138th. Eugene Porter
AMCSorry haters – Eugene survives in the comic. That said, he doesn't betray Rick and side with Negan in the source material, so the TV series is already going down a very different path. Will he pay the price for his disloyalty?
147th. Rosita Espinosa
AMCChristian Serratos will miss out on the first half of the season due to her real-life pregnancy – will she follow up her temporary absence with a permanent exit? It's very possible: the character does perish in the comic, though sometime after the 'All Out War' arc.

156th. Gabriel Stokes
AMCNot only does he end up in Negan's clutches this season, but Gabriel's another character who's long-dead in the comic. Again, though, his demise occurs after 'All Out War' – so put him down as a definite Maybe.
165th. Aaron
Gene Page//AMCHe's not exactly a key player, but he does live in the source material. Just as well, because we're keen for Ross Marquand to get more screen time. After two and a half years, Aaron deserves a last name, at least!

174th. Dwight
AMCAn interesting one, here. Dwight has remained a major character in the comic right up to the present... but his role as Rick's right-hand man is more or less filled in the TV show by Daryl. Is there room for both of them? He could easily be written out this year.
183rd. Simon
AMCNegan's brutish henchman doesn't have a direct equivalent in the comic, so his fate is up in the air. That said, we suspect he'll be one of the first casualties of All Out War, with actor Steven Ogg's promotion to series regular a bit of misdirection.

192nd. Gregory
We're calling it now – Gregory's a dead cert, literally. He's lost control of Hilltop, which in the comic leads to his execution... bye bye, Xander Berkeley.
201st. Jadis
AMCNot in comic book. No set fate. Betray Rick. Bad idea. Fan unpopular. Dead soon.
