Blade Runner is set to get a brand new TV spin-off, which will include classic characters from the movies universe.
Anime series Blade Runner – Black Lotus has been given the green light for Adult Swim, and will be set in 2032 (via The Hollywood Reporter).
That puts it between the timescales of the original 1982 movie and last year's sequel Blade Runner 2049.
"I first saw Blade Runner in 1982, at age 11. It has remained one of the defining films of my life," said Jason DeMarco, senior VP/creative director of Adult Swim on-air.
"To be able to explore more of this universe, with the incredible talent we have on board, is a dream come true."
The 13 episodes will be directed by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama (the upcoming Ghost in the Shell reboot), with Adult Swim holding worldwide distribution rights.

Blade Runner 2049 received widespread acclaim when it was released in 2017, though it seems one of the franchise's original stars was less of a fan.
"It looks great but I struggle to see why that film was necessary," said Rutger Hauer, who appeared in the 1982 movie. "I just think if something is so beautiful, you should just leave it alone and make another film.
"Don't lean with one elbow on the success that was earned over 30 years in the underground."
