Harrison Ford's Blade Runner is getting an ultra deluxe new 4K boxset.

The Indiana Jones star's science fiction classic has its 40th anniversary this year, so the timing is perfect for Warner Bros to release a new home version from its Film Vault collection.

Available for pre-order for £49.99 ahead of a December 12, 2022 release date, this boxset will be limited to only 3,000 copies for sale in the UK.

Warner Bros has teamed up with Vice Press for brand new key artwork commissioned exclusively for the film's anniversary, as well as packaging that can be displayed separately in home collections.

What to Read Next

While the film was not a success upon its original release in 1982, it has become a science fiction classic in the decades since. A sequel, Blade Runner 2049, was released in 2017 and anime spinoff Blade Runner: Black Lotus followed last year.

It was announced last month that Sir Ridley Scott will return to the franchise to executive produce a live-action series that will serve as a sequel to the two previous films.

Blade Runner 2099, which will be a streaming show on Prime Video, has also signed up Halo and Shining Girls writer Silka Luisa as the showrunner and Scott's fellow executive producer.

Scott has suggested the series will be around ten hours in length, though it remains to be seen exactly how many episodes that will break down into. No premiere date or casting have yet been announced.
