The Sharknado film franchise is biting the dust. And not a moment too soon!
The low-budget mockbusters from US cable channel Syfy will come to an end this summer with the release of the sixth (!) instalment, currently untitled (via TVLine).
Returning for this (not-at-all) historic cinematic event will be earth's mightiest heroes… Ian Ziering and Tara Reid as shark-battling couple Fin and April Shepard.
Also back for Sharknado 6 will be Vivica A. Fox, Cassie Scerbo and visionary director Anthony C. Ferrante. (Just kidding about that 'visionary' bit).
The story will pick up directly where Sharknado 5: Global Swarming left off with Fin wandering alone across an earth that has been completely ravaged by man-eating storms.
It's up to Fin to harness the time-travel technology introduced in part-five to reverse the deadly events of the first film, or else humanity dies off. Along the way, we're sure he'll get some help from at least one of the Real Housewives of Dallas, Jedward, an NBC news anchor or two, Stormy Daniels, the seventh-place finisher on RuPaul's Drag Race, Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins and an endless stream of other Z-list celebrities.
