DC's Legends of Tomorrow looks set to bring back a major character for the upcoming season three finale.

Following his exit at the end of 2017, it is being reported that Jefferson 'Jax' Jackson will return to the fold for the final episode of the season.

According to ComicBook.com, Franz Drameh will revive his character after a four-month absence following the death of on-screen mentor Martin Stein (Victor Garber).

During the 'Crisis on Earth-X' crossover episode, Stein sacrifices himself to save Jax, and the latter subsequently retires from being a superhero. Drameh's last appearance as Jax was in the following episode, 'Beebo the God of War'.

Whether the season finale appearance will be a one-off or the start of a regular return for the character remains unclear – but here's hoping it's the latter.

Jax won't be the only other big name returning for the episode, with Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech) and John Constantine (Matt Ryan) both set to pop up again too.

Hex has a customary appearance at least once a season in Legends of Tomorrow (a little in-joke), while Constantine previously appeared earlier this season.

Whatever happens, it certainly looks set to be an action-packed finale – well, with those two in the mix we would expect nothing less, frankly.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow airs on Mondays at 8/7c on The CW in the US. The show airs on Wednesdays at 8pm on Sky One and NOW TV in the UK.
