Star Trek: Discovery's first season ended with its finale episode 'Will You Take My Hand?' last night (February 11).

As expected, the episode tied up all its loose ends – the Klingon War is over, while Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) has her rank in Starfleet reinstated and her mutiny pardoned.

It also saw the crew of the USS Discovery picking up their new captain, via a distress call from Starfleet Captain Christopher Pike of the USS Enterprise (Captain James T Kirk's predecessor, no less).

And the closing scene showed the USS Enterprise and USS Discovery coming together before the end credits rolled alongside the music from Star Trek: The Original Series.

However, it was Michelle Yeoh who got fans talking as her Mirror Universe counterpart Emperor Georgiou set off on her own and bid farewell:

Star Trek: Discovery is definitely coming back for season two – though we don't have an air date just yet.

What we do know is that season two will feel more like traditional Trek. "We have time to do things like more away missions, newer planets.
