The final farewell for Lena Dunham's Girls is coming a lot sooner than we're comfortable with.
The sixth and last season of the Emmy-winning comedy-drama series will return to HBO in the US on Sunday, February 12 at 10pm ET.
There's already lots of buzz around the upcoming episodes, since paparazzi pictures snapped on the Girls set at least hinted at a pregnancy for Dunham's character Hannah Horvath.
Joining Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet in the core cast next season will be The Americans star Matthew Rhys, who called his role a "total departure" from FX's Cold War drama.
"That's a prime example of our show [opening doors]," Rhys teased back in August.
"[Lena Dunham] watches it and goes, 'Oh, come and do this'. It's a total departure, and that's what you always want."

Girls heads into its final stretch fresh off a Primetime Emmy Award for Peter Scolari as Hannah's dad, whose coming out became one of the show's most compelling storylines in later years.
Producer Jenni Konner recently celebrated Scolari's Emmy win: "It was literally the most heartwarming and incredible thing that ever - he worked so hard and he's been working so hard for so many years and it was a really beautiful thing and an incredibly satisfying moment for all of us.
"He's also maybe the kindest person who ever existed on the planet and the most well deserving."
Thursday's scheduling announcement from HBO also dated the return of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on Sunday, February 12 at 11pm ET, and Pete Holmes's semi-autobiographical comedy Crashing for Sunday, February 19 at 10.30pm.
Earlier this week, HBO also renewed hit sci-fi series Westworld as well as the comedies Divorce and Insecure.
