Lena Dunham has revealed that we've seen the last of Shoshanna and Jessa on Girls.
The HBO hit ends next week and in an Instagram post, which she has since deleted, Dunham explained that this week's episode marked Zosia Mamet and Jemima Kirke's last on the show.
"From the first day we paired them together in fall 2010, we knew these two TV cousins had something kinetic," she wrote (via EW).
"And it's true- even when they were battling, Jessa & Shoshanna had this insane Hepburn/Tracy Laverne/Shirley energy that just made us laugh so hard and feel so much. Last night was their final episode of Girls. No words for how we'll miss writing for them, watching them, working alongside them."
Shoshanna has been missing from most of Girls' final season and this week's episode revealed it was because she had moved on from the others and had gotten engaged, with the four realising they just didn't get on.

Still, at least Jessa and Hannah (Dunham) made up after falling out when Jessa started sleeping with Hannah's ex Adam (Adam Driver), and the four shared one final dance together.
The episode also marked the final outing for Andrew Rannells's Elijah after he landed a role in the White Men Can't Jump musical.
So it seems the very final episode of Girls will basically just revolve around Hannah and Marnie (Allison Williams). Erm, yay?
Even though Girls ends this Sunday on HBO in the US and Monday on Sky Atlantic in the UK, Dunham hasn't ruled out the show returning in a sequel or a movie at some point in the future.
