A Good Wife spinoff is really in the works for CBS's brand-new subscription service.

What to Read Next

The network is teaming with Good Wife creators Robert King and Michelle King on a legal drama that will bring back Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Kings are expected to write the pilot, but will then turn over the reigns to other writers so they can focus on their own upcoming CBS thriller BrainDead.

The Good Wife hinted at a potential spinoff with its series finale last week, as 14-time Emmy nominee Baranski's fan favourite character Diane Lockhart took a stand after being betrayed by long-time friend Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies).

A currently-untitled Good Wife spinoff would air exclusively on CBS All Access, the same subscription service which will launch the upcoming Star Trek spinoff.

An official announcement could come at next week's CBS upfronts presentation.
