Ellen Pompeo has revealed which famous Grey's Anatomy scene made her eldest daughter cry.
The Meredith Grey actor has three kids – 15-year-old Stella Luna, 10-year-old Sienna May, and 8-year-old Eli Christopher – and the oldest one has reached the age where she's started to delve into the show that made her mother famous.
In an interview with People, Pompeo admitted that she has tried putting it off but realises that it's inevitable.

"What happens is all the classmates start watching it," she said, "so you can only hold them off for so long because everyone in the class has seen it except your kid.
"And then it gets awkward so you're like, 'Okay.'"

One scene that really hit hard for her daughter is the season 5 finale, 'Now or Never'. That's the episode where George O'Malley (T R Knight) is hit by a bus while saving a stranger.
He's brought into the hospital as a John Doe, as no-one is able to recognise him due to the severity of his injuries. While alone with Meredith, he manages to trace something on her hand: his nickname, 007.

Referring to viral videos in which people film their emotional responses to various Grey's moments, Pompeo said: "My daughter had the same reaction when she saw the 007. She literally cried.
"I had to film it and I couldn't hold it together."
She's less thrilled at the thought of her middle daughter watching the show at her age, and she stated: "Where her friends are watching [the show]. But I still think there's a lot of inappropriate stuff that 10-year-olds should not be seeing.
"So no judgment on other parents, but I just don't want to answer questions. I get some weird questions because I was in the scene. 'So, why are your panties on the bulletin board?' Really don't want to talk about that right now."
Grey's Anatomy season 21 airs on Thursdays at 10pm ET on ABC in the US. Season 21 begins on Disney+ in the UK on March 14.
