Netflix has unveiled a new teaser trailer for the fifth and final season of You ahead of its impending release.
The final season of the psychological thriller series, which is due to premiere on April 24, will once again follow serial killer Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), whose past catches up with him as he attempts to live a peaceful life in New York City.
Ahead of the launch, Netflix has released the latest teaser for the concluding chapter, with Joe beginning by declaring that “love tests us” and that he had been “tested more than most” in his “rags-to-riches story”.

“I’ve been through it all. I’ve been unlucky in life and in love - until I met you,” he continued as girlfriend Kate Galvin (Charlotte Ritchie) entered the shot, with the head of the Lockwood Corp making him the “luckiest guy in New York”.
“Picking up three years after Joe and Kate left London for New York City, Kate is now CEO of the Lockwood Corporation, Joe is her loyal husband who has been dubbed Prince Charming by the adoring public, and they’re both following through on their pact to help each other do good,” reads the synopsis (via Tudum).

“[However], reconciling who Joe has been with who he wants to be is an ongoing project. As the season unfolds, Joe will not only cross paths with Bronte (Madeline Brewer), who makes him reconsider his affluent life, but will also contend with his wife Kate’s siblings.”

“Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant,” said Badgley of the final season. “And this season, I think somehow coming back to where it started allowed for it to just become grounded in the way that it needs to also have this kind of spectacular finish.”
“We loved the idea of things coming full circle for him,” added executive producer and co-showrunner Michael Foley. “We’re excited by the fact that Joe came home as such a different person than [who] we saw in Season 1. At the core of our final story for Joe is this dichotomy of the old and the new.”
You season 5 premieres on Netflix on April 24. Seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix.
