Yellowstone season 5 spoilers follow.
Yellowstone star Luke Grimes has hinted at the show's heartbreaking final episode.
The long-awaited second half of season five is currently streaming on Paramount+, marking the conclusion of Taylor Sheridan's fan-favourite Western drama.
Speaking to TVLine, Luke Grimes, who has played Kayce Dutton since the show's inception, revealed that he avoided reading the script for the final episode – which lands on the streaming service on December 15.
"I mean, it's the end – the end-end," he said. "I had no idea how the show was going to [wrap up], and I wanted to save reading that episode for the very last second."

Grimes went on to share that he was a "mess" when he eventually read the finale, adding: "It's beautiful. It's profound. It's heartbreaking."
He also feels confident that viewers will be satisfied with the show's conclusion, saying: "They won't feel like they've wasted their time for the past six years."
The second part of season five led on a shocker when protagonist John Dutton (Kevin Costner) was found dead within the first few minutes of episode nine.
Yellowstone fans quickly shared their disappointment following the tragic scenes, as they had anticipated Costner playing an "integral" role in the show's epilogue.
"I think we were all lucky to have Kevin on the show for as long as we did," Grimes previously explained. "It was always the plan for him to have to go away for the story to really ramp up."

Despite the show's end, recent reports have teased that a sixth season could be in the works. In the meantime, fans can look forward to the upcoming spin-off series The Madison, which is due to premiere next year.
The drama, which is set in the present day, will follow a New York City family in central Montana as they process their emotions after a family tragedy.
"The series is a heartfelt study of grief and human connection," the logline teases.
Its star-studded cast includes Michelle Pfeiffer, Suits actor Patrick J Adams and Firefly Lane's Beau Garrett.
