Burgess has been cast as the charismatic gay best friend of Kemper's character, reports Deadline.

The actor is perhaps best known for starring in Fey's previous NBC show 30 Rock as D'Fwan, a member of Tracy Jordan's wife's (Sherri Shepherd) entourage.

He has worked extensively on the Broadway stage in Good Vibrations and Jersey Boys.

Fey and her 30 Rock collaborator Robert Carlock are serving as showrunners on Tooken, which is slated to premiere this fall.
