So You Think You Can Dance has been renewed for an 11th season.

Nigel Lythgoe announced that the competitive dance show will return during Tuesday's (September 10) season ten finale.

Fox later confirmed that a new season of So You Think You Can Dance has in fact been commissioned.

The series premiered on Fox in 2005, and is executive produced by Lythgoe and Simon Fuller. Lythgoe also sits on So You Think You Can Dance's judging panel with Mary Murphy.

The tenth season additionally featured guest judges Paula Abdul, Erin Andrews, Christina Applegate, Carly Rae Jepsen and Anna Kendrick throughout the competition.

Tuesday's season finale saw the crowning of both male and female winners.
