Queer Eye has announced the newest member of the Fab Five. Netflix has announced on X that interior designer Jeremiah Brent will be joining the show, beginning with the Las Vegas-based season 9.

Brent is well known for his HGTV series' Nate & Jeremiah by Design and The Nate and Jeremiah Home Project, which he hosts alongside husband Nate Berkus.

He has also worked on Netflix series Say I Do, which comes from the same team behind Queer Eye and on The Rachel Zoe Project.

Brent is replacing original Queer Eye cast member Bobby Berk who announced his exit from the show in November 2023, ahead of the eighth season airing.

In a statement on Instagram, Berk told fans: "It's with a heavy heart that I announce that season eight will be my final season on Queer Eye. It's not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one.

"Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon. I love you all so, so much and I'll meet you all in Nola for one final season."

Following his exit, there were rumours of a falling out between Berk and fellow castmember Tan France.

In an interview with Vanity Fair last month Berk addressed the rumours directly, saying: "I want people to know that Tan and I – we will be fine. Tan and I had a moment. There was a situation, and that's between Tan and I, and it has nothing to do with the show. It was something personal that had been brewing – and nothing romantic, just to clarify that."

Discussing why he unfollowed France on Instagram, Berk said: "Maybe I should have just muted him. But that day, I was angry, and that's the end of it. We became like siblings – and siblings are always going to fight."

Berk went on to explain that he had decided not to renew his Queer Eye contract after his initial deal had expired, believing that the entire cast would do the same.

"We thought we were done," he explained. "Mentally and emotionally, I thought we all moved on. I know I did, and I started planning other things. All the plans that I had made when I thought we weren't coming back, I just wasn't willing to change those," he continued. "I would have had to pump the brakes on multiple other projects that are already in process. We had mentally just prepared ourselves to move on – that's why I left."

However Berk was positive about his experience on the show, saying: "Queer Eye has been the most amazing gift that I couldn't have ever imagined. It's been a life-changing moment. I'm leaving something that is a huge part of my life. Even though it's my decision, it still wasn't an easy one."

Queer Eye seasons 1-8 are available on Netflix, whilst season 9 is yet to receive a release date.
