Reacher will be back for season three and it's adding Black Widow and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny actor Olivier Richters to its cast as the season's formidable villain. It's fair to say we're excited.
The third season is set to be a dark one as it adapts the events from book seven, Persuader, for the small screen.
It's tipped to be a (relatively) solo journey for Reacher, following season two's team-up, and Reacher actor Alan Ritchson has revealed that we will "get to enjoy Reacher in a new world," (via ComicBook).
But when will that be? Here's everything we know about Reacher season three.
Reacher season 3 potential release date: When's it on?
According to Ritchson, Reacher season three is "nearing completion," at least that's what he told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show – but that was way back in February 2024. Since then, there has been nary a peep where production news is concerned.
If you were hoping that 'close to wrapping' in February means that Reacher's third season may have quietly slipped into the post-production phase already, you'd be wrong, as Richters' on-set reveal was posted to Instagram towards the end of May, which indicates that filming is possibly still going on.

Who will be in the Reacher season 3 cast?
Olivier Richters has already been confirmed as the Reacher season three baddie, pegged to make Alan Ritchson's Reacher's life a mess. The 7'2" Richters, who will play Paulie, was captured in a behind-the-scenes picture on Instagram.
The images show him in character as Paulie crossing out Reacher's name on his trailer's front door and etching his own. The caption read: "REACHER isn't going to like that. @thedutchgiant has arrived to season three."
So who else is joining the pair for this volatile season-three ride?
On February 8th Prime Video announced that Maria Sten would return as Frances Neagley. She will be joined by newbies Anthony Michael Hall and Sonya Cassidy.
Cassidy will play Reacher's partner-in-crimebusting love interest Agent Susan Duffy, while Hall will be rug merchant (and so much more) Zachary Beck.
In other casting news, Expats star Brian Tee will also be joining the season-three roster as a "physically imposing and intimidating" lieutenant colonel named Quinn, who Ritchson's Reacher investigated years ago.
Joining Tee will be Dog Gone's Johnny Berchtold, who will play college student Richard Beck.
Roberto Montesinos will play DEA agent Guillermo Villanueva, who is "on the verge of retirement" and acts as a "mentor/father figure" to fellow agent and newcomer Susan Duffy.
Additionally, For All Mankind's Daniel David Stewart will play the role of Steven Elliot, "a rookie DEA agent who is fresh-faced and new to the job".
What book will Reacher season 3 be based on?
It was confirmed back in January 2024 that Reacher's third season will adapt author Lee Child's seventh book in the series, Persuader, which was published in 2003.
What will happen in the Reacher season 3 plot?
The Persuader novel sees Reacher going undercover to rescue an informant who has been captured by someone from his past.
The story also sees Reacher make a tentative alliance with the DEA to foil a drug smuggler by forging a bond through his family.
Expect it to be a lonely ride for our titular character as it was confirmed season three would focus on a solo story for him.
"I think we've been very creative about how we've sequenced the type of story," executive producer and author Child teased:
"We felt we needed a book that was more Reacher alone for the third season. And so it was a question of which story would work best for that, and which one would have a great opening scene and all of that, and we found one that we loved."
Is there a Reacher season 3 trailer?
There's not been any new footage or video teases for the new season of Reacher just yet, but we'd hope to see a first-look trailer closer to release.
