Loki executive producer Kevin Wright has spoken about the absence of Kang the Conqueror in the show's finale.
There had been speculation about the role of Kang in the series amid the ongoing legal troubles faced by Jonathan Majors, the actor who portrays the MCU supervillan.
Majors is set to stand trial for domestic abuse charges on November 29. The actor denies all accusations.

Wright said reports of an original version of the finale featuring more scenes with Kang were "crazy". He told TVLine: "The story that is on screen is the one that we set out to make.
"Our VFX is awesome, it's so good in this episode. You can't do that if you're not locking that stuff in months in advance," Wright explained.

"That final sequence was eight months in the making — just in post-production, not talking about shooting. We never really had any consideration for the larger Marvel universe, and that is why these two seasons were good. We built our own corner of the sandbox, we told our own story," he added.

"People got excited about that and went, 'Oh, Kang!' and started building on top of that. But to us, we were the keepers of nearly 12 hours of that storytelling, and we wanted that to come to a close."
Wright also insisted there were never plans for a post-credits scene at the end of Loki season 2, saying: "We didn't write any [post-credits scenes], and we certainly didn't shoot any."
Earlier this year, the producer spoke about Majors' involvement in the project after the actor was arrested and charged with assault and aggravated harassment in March. Wright confirmed no changes were made to Loki season 2 because of Majors' legal issues, saying: "It felt hasty to do anything without knowing how all of this plays out."
Majors does appear in three episodes (including the finale 'Glorious Purpose') of this second chapter as both He Who Remains and one of his variants, Victor Timely. He's also currently scheduled to feature in 2026's Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Both seasons of Loki are streaming on Disney+.
