Loki may not come back for a third season, according to one of the show's writers.
Streaming on Disney+, the Marvel Cinematic Universe show returned for season 2 this autumn, with Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw all back in their respective roles as the eponymous God of Mischief, agent Mobius M. Mobius and Ravonna Renslayer.
However, with the sixth and final episode now available to fans, Loki head writer Eric Martin hinted to CinemaBlend that we're at the finish line.

"We approached this as like two halves of a book," he commented. "Season one, first half. Season two, we close the book on Loki and the TVA. Where it goes beyond that, I don't know. I just wanted to tell a full and complete story across those two seasons."
This certainly works in conjunction with what producer Kevin Wright said last month, but there is still hope for the Asgardian multiverse meddler.
Wright explained of the series' future to Deadline: "We take it season by season, and there are certainly things that Tom and I and other casts have talked about of where we see this going, and I know there's some excitement for that internally, but just from a storytelling standpoint, I think we always conceived of seasons one and two as a whole.

"That these are two chapters of the same book, and that season two is finishing that book, and there are other stories to be told there, but I think they would be new books, if that's not too coy," he caveated.
