The new casting comes just a few months after Mayans MC star Lex Medlin and Helstrom's Ariana Guerra were announced to play newcomers Beau and Serena respectively.

Medlin's character, Beau (who's a husband and a dad of four kids), spent the past 20 years as one of Dow Chemical's best research scientists and has decided to put his efforts to better use following the pandemic.

CSI: Vegas has had to deal with a number of exits since season two was announced, including William Petersen, Jorja Fox and supposedly, Mel Rodriguez.

In a statement released at the time of her exit, Fox told fans that she had "decided not to 'Sidle up'" again.

"For me, CSI has always been a love story. The story that people can find love in the darkest of places and times," she explained. "And the story that love, even in the darkest of places and times, can expand and grow roots and endure."

Alluding to Petersen's exit, she added: "I personally just can't split Sara and Grissom up again. So goes Grissom… So goes Sara. Wherever they go, they belong together."

CSI: Vegas airs on CBS in the US. No UK broadcaster has been announced yet.
