Jennifer Hudson has described her guest starring role in Smash as the "perfect" career opportunity.
The Oscar winner will appear in Smash's second season as a Broadway star who has an impact on the careers of Ivy (Megan Hilty) and Karen (Katharine McPhee).
Hudson spoke about the role in a new interview with The AP, revealing that she is very excited to be a guest star on the NBC series.
"It's just the perfect opportunity. It's gonna be challenging, and I'm a little bit intimidated to play this big Broadway star," she admitted.
She added: "It's gonna be a great experience [and] I can't wait to get started!"
Andy Mientus recently joined the cast of Smash as well to play theatre actor Kyle.
