Smash is to air its season two finale on Sunday, May 26.
The episode - widely expected to be the musical drama's last - has been shifted from the show's usual Saturday night slot, TVLine reports.
Smash originally aired on Tuesday nights when it returned for its second run, but was shifted to Saturdays from April 6 onwards due to disappointing audience numbers.
Showrunner Josh Safran previously confirmed that the two-hour season two finale - titled 'The Tonys' - has been "constructed as a series finale".
"I don't want [viewers] to think they are going to be left hanging, because they won't be," he said. "The season has a beginning, middle and an end."
Debra Messing - who plays Julia on the show - has also booked a new comedy pilot with CBS, while Jack Davenport - Derek - will star in new ITV medical drama Breathless.
