Atlanta, the comedy show on FX that Star Wars actor Donald Glover stars in, has confirmed that it will end very soon.

Atlanta will air its fourth and final season later this autumn, FX announced on Thursday (February 20) at the network's TCA panel.

FX Chairman John Landgraf said: "Fo the first time, Atlanta will stream the next day on Hulu. The fourth and final season is slated to debut in the same manner this fall. The new season is everything you've come to expect from Atlanta, which is to say, expect the unexpected. Sit back and enjoy the trip."

Landgraf was referring to the third season of Atlanta, which will premiere on March 25 after a four-year hiatus.

Glover himself confirmed this news, saying that the plan had always been in place for Atlanta to conclude this year.

"To be honest, I wanted to end it after season two. I feel like when the conditions are right for something, they happen. And when the conditions are right for something, they happen. And when the conditions aren't right for it, they don't happen," Glover said.

"I feel like the story was always supposed to be what it was. Like everybody in that writers' room, everybody on set… it really was what we were going through and what we talked about. That’s the only way I like to make things. I think it ended perfectly."

The multi-award winning show has starred Glover from the beginning as Earnest 'Earn' Marks, alongside Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield and Zazie Beetz.

Glover is by no means a one-trick pony though, working as a rapper, singer, writer, comedian, director and producer too. Atlanta was created and produced by Glover, and he is known by his stage name Childish Gambino in his musical pursuits.

He also played Aaron Davis in Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming, Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story and adult Simba in Disney's live action remake of The Lion King.
