Watchmen showrunner Damon Lindelof is truly ruling out making a second season.
The former Lost and Leftovers writer has often cast doubt on more episodes because he feels he told a complete story with the first season.
Following Watchmen's sweep of the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 20) with 11 wins, Lindelof was asked in the press room whether he'd changed his mind about returning to the show (via Radio Times).
"It would feel like a huge betrayal of winning limited series to come back and say, 'It was only a limited series'," Lindelof insisted. "Watchmen is something I've loved since I was 13 years old. Someone else created it and this was my run on it.

Series star Regina King recently acknowledged that HBO would make more of Watchmen "in a heartbeat", but insisted Lindelof would be key to the cast returning.
"If Damon Lindelof doesn't see an entry point for season two... I think that the possibilities are infinite, but I feel that if Damon doesn't see it, then it's going to be a no for me," she said.
King won the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie prize at the Primetime Emmy Awards, along with co-star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the Supporting Actor category.
The HBO show also won Outstanding Limited Series, while Damon Lindelof and Cord Jefferson received the Outstanding Writing award for their own contributions to Watchmen.
All episodes of Watchmen are available on Sky Catch Up and NOW TV.
