Fans of RPGs and dystopian TV series rejoice, because the creators of Westworld are bringing Bethesda's long-running post-apocalyptic game Fallout to the small screen.
Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan have teamed up with Amazon Studios for the project, while no writer is currently attached.
Amazon Studios made the announcement on its official Twitter account on Thursday (July 2), sharing a short teaser for the new series.
In a joint statement, Joy and Nolan wrote: "Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time.
"Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we're incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios."
Debuting in 1997, the Fallout games are set in a 1940s vision of the future (lots of robots and gadgets, but people are still wearing sleeveless sweaters and listening to wartime music) where America has been devastated by a nuclear war.

The games takes place in a radioactive wasteland with various members of the population surviving in underground vaults.

And Jonah and Lisa are the perfect storytellers to bring this series to life," said Albert Cheng, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Head of Television at Amazon Studios. "We're thrilled to join with Bethesda to bring Fallout to television."
At present, there's no indication of when the series will arrive on Amazon Prime Video. Please stand by.
Westworld airs on HBO in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK.
