Legacies is set to air a musical episode – and it will be extra special too, as it will "revisit the legacies" of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals.
The spin-off series is providing a range of different standalones in season two, including a video game episode and a film noir-influenced one too.
However, the 19th episode of the season will go down yet another different route, adopting a musical theme. How exciting.

"Episode 19 is our grand musical episode," executive producer Brett Matthews told TV Guide.
"We try to do a musical a year, and it's a musical that will sort of revisit our legacies — the legacy of the show, The Vampire Diaries and The Originals universe," he further explained.
Legacies is not stranger to musical tradition, with a season one episode seeing the Salvatore School students break out into song at a school talent show.

As mentioned, the show recently announced a film noir episode, creator Julie Plec explaining: "We just wanted to dive into a fantasy world we hadn't done before."
"We had the episode broken and we didn't know conceptually what we wanted the world to be," executive producer Brett Matthews added. "There were a lot of ideas on the table. Film noir just became the perfect storm of producible and fit the tone of the season and that particular episode."
Legacies airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on The CW in the US.
